How Much Are You Making Online

I do and have done quite a bit of one on one coaching and before I get started with a new client I have a list of things I ask them so I can assess what they need. When I get to the question ‘How Much Are You Making Online’ the person I am asking almost always seems to get uncomfortable. There seems to be a very large taboo over admitting to failure and/or ignorance, which is silly.

No one knows how to use/do something until the learn it.

No one knows success until they have achieved their failures.

Together with mentoring people to a place where they have a system that works for them to follow, I also teach them how to motivate themselves, which in turn makes them more productive. Out of the 18 students I have had, not including my current ones, 15 have gone on to making a full time living online, 2 have given up to go back to work full time and the last one has disappeared off the face of the planet.

I try to write a lot of tutorials and ’systems to follow’ type posts because I know that this is what helps my mentoring students. They are all like I was about 18 months ago, lost, but now they have purpose and have stopped spending on things they do not need or do not have he time right now to implement, which is also important.

Today two of my students, of the 18 above, have just finished their mentoring. One of them has come on so far that he has paid off about $20,000 in debt and is now earning enough to support his family without having to rely on credit (he has been my best student and I am very proud). He is capable of building (scaling up) his business as much as he wants now he can focus.

I did ask my students if any them would be happy to share their story ‘in public’, but they all declined. In a time where everyone is a guru and niches are stolen right from under you, everyone preferred to stay in the dark. One of them promised a video testimonial though, where they are balcked out and their voice is all scrambled, but she has never done something like this before, so has set off to learn how to do it.

So, as of today, I have two spots open for mentoring. This is the first time I have offered it on my site because normally I find students through forums and the like where they need help and I am available to provide it to them, but after one of my subscibers said she wanted to learn anything I could teach her I thought maybe someone I had not yet had the pleasure to meet online would be interested.

If you are interested please contact me using the form here, giving some details about where you are and what you are finding hard to overcome and we can go from there.

I do not charge ridiculous prices. My fees are based on the individual means and needs of my students and how much time you and I can both commit to it. Some people take longer than others to learn things while others take it in like sponges. We are all different.

Well, it’s Friday again. Thankfully the weather forecast is good, so I can take the kids to the park and let them out on their bikes so they can knacker themselves out. Having to stay in on a rainy weekend makes them go crazy … and me … lol. Have a good one and we’ll catch up next week.

Viral Marketing Examples (Tips & Tricks Too) - Part 2

Continuing on from part one of this post (you can read part 1 of Viral Marketing Examples (Tips & Tricks Too) here - it will open in a new window for your convenience) I wanted to show you a marketer who has created a piece of software that will allow your wordpress blog posts to go viral as well as providing you with an ‘all too precious’ one way link, using trackbacks.

I don’t know about you, but I love reading blogs, especially ones related to wordpress. My problem is I come across something interesting and don’t just read the articles, but all the comments and trackbacks too. I find it very interesting to see who is also reading the posts and what they are writing about on their own blogs. To the people who left the comment or trackback I am a visitor that has come from something they found interesting or wrote about, so am much more likely to stay a while on their site or blog than someone who found them by accident.

Jack Humphrey, you may know his name from ‘Content Desk’ or the ‘Black Book’, is about to release a piece of software, which I think is desktop based from the video on his blog post about it (click here to read it - it will open in a new window for your convenience) which will find for you blogs with similar posts to yours that allow trackbacks. You know how I love time savers. The software will also allow you to edit your posts from it in order to add the links, again saving you time.

This is not a ‘normal’ viral marketing example, but most blog readers are like me, especially in niche markets as they are there to read more about the thinkgs they like and enjoy. Imagine having even three trackbacks on three different blogs in your niche, coming back to your website. If it is a high pr blog you may even move up the SERP’s, but most importantly if it is a high traffic blog you may benefit from their traffic. More traffic = more sales. So anything that can bring you more traffic is a form of viral marketing.

If you would like to post a trackback to someone’s blog, but cannot find the trackback link you should just try to add /trackback/ to the end of the url, so in the case of this post the trackback url would be http://www.onthenetdollars.com/general/viral-marketing-examples-part-2/trackback/. This will only work if the wordpress blog owner has allowed trackbacks. If you would like to allow trackbacks on your blog you can read my post on it … Trackbacks & Time Wasted, where you will also find how to add make the trackback url show up on your blog if it is not included in your template already.

Please let me know what you think by leaving your comments for me :)

My First Custom Niche Theme For Wordpress

Well, if you have been following me here you will have seen the small changes taking place every day to my chosen theme, but I finally finished my first custom niche theme for wordpress with a widgetized sidebar and I am very proud :) You can take a look at it here.

My free theme will be slightly different to this because it will be slightly larger, and generic obviously, (your blog may not be about toys … lol) will hopefully be finished by Thursday next week as I am off to London for a week to visit my family on Friday next week and I want to be able to relax. I can post from there and check my e-mails (remotely) so I will probably not take my laptop as it is supposed to be a holiday, but you never know, I might change my mind at the last minute :)

I will be creating niche blog themes and selling them from this site, so please do let me know if you have a niche in mind. They will automatically include clickbank, adsense and amazon. The first ones will probably not be ready until I get back from London though unless someone asks for a particular niche to be covered before the end of this weekend.

If you would like a custom niche theme made exclusively for you, please send me an e-mail to admin [at] onthenetdollars.com to discuss pricing. (replace the [at] with the @ sign)

Also, do you like the cool little corner image that allows you to add the site to your google toolbar with one click? I love it and it is a great little plugin that is easy to install and configure. You can grab a copy for yourself here, it is called WP Goobar and for just $20 (you can add it to an unlimited number of your wordpress blogs) it is worth every cent in my opinion. If you do purchase through my link and have any installation problems, let me know and I will help you get it working.
