How To Wordpress - Tips, Tricks & Tutorials

eBay To Ban Digital Downloads From Auctions

A good friend of mine, James Reilly, just told me about this and I thought you would find it interesting as there are many ebooks on how to make money on ebay and most of them pertain to selling digital products, like ebooks themselves.

You can see exactly what this new rule is all about and why they have put it into place on the eBay chatter site by clicking here.

There are also a lot of interesting comments from eBay users and digital download sellers here.

There are however two alternatives to advertising on eBay through the classifieds (which is the only way you will be able to sell digital products from the 31st March 2008) and they are …

1) Host your own auction on your blog, if you are using wordpress, using a great little plugin called WPAuctions, which you can read all about here and there is no charge for it.

2) Hop on over to wightauction.co.uk and set yourself up with a seller account. As far as I understand they are not charging any fees at the moment as they are just getting off the ground.

Personally eBay has only ever worked out for me for selling household stuff, clothes etc… and even then I even screw up on the postage and it ends up costing me money :)

Let me and all the other readers know what you think about this new rule by leaving a comment.
