Do You Need A Search Engine Ranking Boost?

My how the time passed quickly, it’s been about a fortnight since I got home and posted and since then not a thing. I have been promoting a CPA offer and was so surprised by my results that I got carried away into another one :) Anyway, that is a story for another day.

So I have spoken many times about improving rankings and pagerank with linking, so you should know how important building backlinks is. If you missed my previous articles you can catch up on them … Traffic TipsTutorials.

I use a lot of tools that save me time. I love them all, but I have two favourites. One I will be discussing in the next few days, it is wordpress related, but the other one has just opened up some more spots, so I thought I’d better let you know now.

So, Brute Force SEO, by Peter Drew, is a nift piece of work. It creates accounts for you across 5 sites. It automatically posts content to those sites, using your keywords and money site of course, links them together and then submits the urls to the social bookmarking sites as well as the rss submission sites. You can do all of these things or just one. You can also submit your articles to the article directories.

ALL from just ONE easy to use interface.

Peter’s new twitter software is included and to be honest I wasn’t sure about this to start with, but 500 friends in 24 hrs with a brand new account proved me wrong.

You also get a social site account creator that is separate and can create accounts for you in about 40 (I have not counted) social sites including video sites, article sites and rss submission sites.

Full manuals are given along with access to a fabulous forum, where people are more than happy to share their tips and help you out.

I signed up on launch for this back in October 2008. That was version 1. something. We are now on version 3. something as Peter is dedicated to keeping this software up to date.

The number of backlinks that are created to and linkjuice passed on to your money site is unbelieveable considering you just sit drinking tea or whatever entering captchas.

If you have any questions about this software before you purchase, please list them below, but remember spots will be limited as usual. There is also a 7 day $1 trial, so nothing to loose to try it out :)

Top Tips To Improve Page Rank

Numeric examples of PageRanks in a small system.
Image via Wikipedia

Carrying on on my backlinking post from Tuesday I just wanted to go into page rank a little, because it seems that people are really bothered by it when they don’t need to be.

In basic terms it is a number from 0 to 10 awarded to a website. A link analysis algorithm is used to assign this numerical weighting to each element of the site. Having a good page rank can be beneficial in terms of rankings, but there are may sites is the top 100,000 sites (according to Alexa) that have a very low page rank if any.

You DO NOT NEED page rank in order to get traffic. Stop worrying about it and worry more about getting traffic. If you get traffic and rankings page rank will come.

Now, onto the linkbuilding part of it. When you have a link coming into your site that has a page rank and no “nofollow” tag then the page rank leaks, if you like, to your site increasing yours. When you link to a site that has no page rank or has bage rank, but is using the “nofollow” then no page rank is leaked. It is still a link though and if it is using your anchor text will still count towards your ranking position in the search engines.

So, following on from my last post where I said you should test to see if linking fast or linking slow is better for you and your sites, one thing is definitely true … if someone over at Google decides to take a further look into your site and sees only links coming from high page ranked sites not using the “nofollow” then this puts up a red flag for sure and says unnatural linking.

When people say make it look natural they don’t necessarily mean do it slowly, but also spread it out over all types of sites.

In conclusion :) test your link building strategies/systems against themselves to ensure you are using the best one for the type of sites you are building and get them from everywhere you can. Wether they are high page rank, no page rank, “nofollow” or no “nofollow”.

You should also take into account that page rank means nothing to your visitors as you would only be looking at the page rank of a site if you were in the business and most of us are marketing to people outside of it.

If you want a more indepth description of Google Page Rank then Web Workshop has a good explanation.

Flipping Wordpress Blogs

Firstly I want to apologise for my not being around over the last month. After finally getting my kidney stone blasted I was in a lot of pain with an infection that kept me away from the computer. I am back on track now after wading through the mountain of 3000 odd e-mails that were waiting for me on my return :)

I wanted to bring up the subject of flipping wordpress blogs today, as opposed to flipping html or php websites. From the many e-mails I get from you guys and gals there seems to be some confusion on how this would work and why they are worth more. AND they are worth more.

There are a few more technicalities in flipping wordpress blogs than an html or php website, but they are minor. I have broken the process down into small chunks below. If something doesn’t make sense ‘Google It’ as it is ouside the scope of this post. Obviously if the buyer is keeping the current hosting that you provide this is all irrelevant as it would be with another type of website, no moving involved.

FLIPPING A WORDPRESS BLOG PROCESS

1) Back up the database for the wordpress blog. This is the most important step. If you miss this and something goes wrong the blog is gone forever.

2) Back up (download using a ftp program) ALL FILES and FOLDERS for the wordpress blog. This is the easiest way to ensure that nothing is missed.

3) Make a note of any specific settings needed just incase they don’t get transferred.

4) Change the nameservers, upload ALL the files to the new server, create a database and import the backup from step 1, change the wp-config.php to reflect any changes in the database details should you need to.

5) Check everything is working ok, but you should be good to go.

NOTE: You can install wordpress through fantastico although it is not advised and harder to make certain changes.

The benefits of flipping wordpress blogs over other websites are that they can be updated more often, can include more info, are easier for you to create, are liked more by the search engines. There are also lots of things that can be done with simply with a wordpress blog that would need a lot more work and coding with an html or php website, like a membership site, affiliate/affiliate site or store site.

As you can see the possibilities are endless. So get going flipping those wordpress blogs :)

I have a new theme coming for you in a few weeks as well as some inside info on some great new plugins to help explode your traffic. I am going on holiday next week, but should have internet access over there to keep up to date. I tell you a few weeks out and you almost have to go back to square one. The one thing I learnt from this though is that you should only stay subscribed to people’s lists if they actually offer you something of value …
